Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving storage inventory management order fulfillment and shipping to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Manage and coordinate container shipments from overseas suppliers handling import logistics scheduling deliveries and ensuring timely receipt of materials.
- Utilize the CyFrame ERP system (or relevant ERP experience) to track inventory levels monitor inbound/outbound shipments and maintain accurate warehouse records and reports.
- Implement and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality control standards within the warehouse ensuring a clean organized and audit-ready environment.
- Lead train and mentor the warehouse team fostering a culture of accountability productivity and continuous improvement.
- Identify and execute process optimization initiatives to improve warehouse layout streamline workflows and increase operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and audits reconciling discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy and optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with procurement production and logistics teams to coordinate inventory needs and align warehouse activities with overall supply chain demands.
- Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and safety standards (including OSHA guidelines) maintaining a safe work environment through routine safety training and inspections.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse operations (e.g. order accuracy on-time shipments inventory turnover) and use data to drive continuous improvement.
- Analyze warehouse data using Excel to identify trends forecast inventory needs and optimize stock levels. Create detailed reports and dashboards to track performance metrics and support decision-making.
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers and logistics providers to secure cost-effective shipping solutions. Evaluate and select the best transportation options based on cost reliability and delivery times.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers ensuring they meet service level agreements (SLAs) and performance standards. Coordinate with 3PLs for warehousing distribution and transportation services.
- Leadership & Team Management: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse warehouse team.
- Operational Excellence: Process-oriented mindset focused on efficiency accuracy and continuous improvement in warehouse operations.
- ERP & Tech Proficiency: Proficiency in using CyFrame ERP software (or relevant ERP experience) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel Word and Outlook) for reporting and data analysis. Familiarity with RFID and systems to collect data through scanning labels and using location and lot control in the warehouse.
- Inventory & Logistics Management: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing inventory coordinating shipments and maintaining documentation.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication skills both written and verbal for interacting with staff management and international suppliers.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities especially under time constraints or when addressing logistical challenges.
- Safety & Compliance: Thorough knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and the ability to enforce compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with a proactive approach.
- Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in supply chain management Logistics Business Administration or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. 10 years in warehouse operations).
- Warehouse Management: 10 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations with several years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in the plastics or packaging manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
- International Logistics: Proven track record in managing international container shipments and coordinating with freight forwarders and customs processes.
- ERP Proficiency: Hands-on experience with the CyFrame ERP system (or similar enterprise resource planning software) for inventory and warehouse management.
- GMP & Quality: In-depth knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and experience implementing these practices in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Inventory Control: Strong understanding of inventory control techniques warehouse best practices and overall supply chain principles.
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with industry regulations and safety compliance requirements including OSHA standards for warehouse operations and experience working within an ISO or SQF Certified facility.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in recruiting training and developing high-performing warehouse teams.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Analytical Skills: Analytical mindset with experience using data and KPIs to drive decision-making and process improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Process improvement mindset; experience with lean warehousing 5S or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment directly supporting manufacturing operations.
- Understanding of production planning and material requirements planning (MRP) concepts.
- Excel Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis including the use of formulas pivot tables and macros to analyze warehouse data and generate reports.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills for securing favorable freight rates and terms with carriers and logistics providers.
- 3PL Management: Experience working with third-party logistics providers managing contracts and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
