JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity is seeking applicants for part-time graduate student position focusing on research and community engagement.
Job duties to include:
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead or assist in the design and implementation of qualitative research initiatives examining LGBTQ student access belonging and identity-based campus climate.
Collect and analyze data using methodologies such as narrative inquiry interviews and focus groups with a strong emphasis on storytelling and lived experiences.
Contribute to the development of institutional reports and recommendations that inform policies and practices promoting LGBTQ inclusion.
Organize and facilitate identity-affirming community spaces such as graduate student discussion circles peer support groups and topic-based forums that help foster a sense of belonging.
Plan and coordinate social and networking events tailored to the needs of LGBTQ graduate and professional students such as mixers and informal gatherings.
Collaborate with Center staff to evaluate and improve programs through data-informed approaches.
General Responsibilities:
Participate in regular CSGD staff meetings and planning sessions.
Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Enrollment as a graduate or professional student at Penn State University (required).
Demonstrated interest in LGBTQ student experiences higher education equity or related fields.
Experience with or coursework in qualitative research methods community-based research or program evaluation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills especially in facilitative and cross-cultural contexts.
