Job Description
We are hiring an Accounts Payables Specialist to join the finance team of a reputable construction company in Montreal. The ideal candidate has a strong background in AP and general accounting is comfortable handling a high volume of transactions and is fluent in both English and French.
This role offers flexibility with work hours (anytime between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM) as long as deadlines are met. The environment is supportive and professional with generous holiday closures including all Jewish holidays and Quebec construction holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process 400500 invoices weekly with accuracy
- Code and assign transactions to appropriate client accounts
- Maintain vendor payment records and track AP entries by client
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable for monthly billing accuracy
- Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies
- Assist with month-end and year-end closings
- Ensure compliance with company policies and deadlines
Qualifications:
- 2 years of AP or general accounting experience
- High attention to detail and ability to manage volume under pressure
- Fluent in English and French (invoices primarily in French)
- Proficient in accounting software and Excel
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
