Job Description

Its an exciting time to join ING Australias most recommended bank for the 3rd year running and were looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Manager Product Marketing & Retail Advisory within the Compliance team.

In this role you will lead a compliance team that helps ING manage risk arising from Unfair Customer Treatment Conflicts of Interest Market Conduct Anti- Competition Organisational Conduct whilst improving staff attitudes and behaviours related to risk awareness risk-taking and risk management. Your team will be instrumental in enhancing and embedding the compliance risk management framework at ING by advising senior stakeholders in all divisions.

You will keep track/oversight of the local implementation of all local regulatory requirements and ING compliance by means of issue tracking monitoring Risk Dashboards and other risk specific reporting (regulatory and internal reporting) to internal stakeholders including INGs Head Office Compliance function. You will also be proactive in managing the development maintenance review and continuous improvement of INGs product compliance advice. You will also provide advice to a tribe on either mortgages daily banking consumer lending or wealth management.

What youll do

  • Managing the compliance advisory team
  • Providing SME advice and support to business partners on regulatory and industry code obligations (e.g. ASIC Act Corporations Act NCCP Act)
  • Providing compliance support to projects
  • Building and maintaining a database of best practice advice to support the CCE team in providing high quality consistent advice
  • Provide support to ASIC Breach Assessment team including continuous improvement of process and procedures
  • Providing advice on improvement of compliance processes and procedures; and

What were looking for

  • 10 years of relevant experience in compliance or consulting roles in the financial services industry
  • Experience working for either ASIC or APRA would be highly desirable
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to ensure optimal outcomes are achieved whilst managing stakeholder expectations
  • Excellent understanding of operational risks and control frameworks in retail Banking
  • Experience in investigations into non-compliance with financial sector legislation specifically root cause analysis.
  • Ability to lead investigations and provide a high standard of written / verbal communication to senior leadership
  • Sound analytical skills and the ability to make decisions critically assess and determine appropriate action in time pressured environments
  • The ability to drive positive risk culture practices and experience of this in team leadership
  • Solid understanding of relevant legislation.
