Job Description

Title: Case Manager

Department: Disability Services

Duration:10 Months

Employment Status: Non-Exempt Full Time 40 hours/week

Job Summary

The temporary Case Manager will provide interim support in assisting with the coordination of accommodation and support services for students with disabilities. This position is intended to supplement and support the duties of the current Case Manager. The temporary Case Manager plays a key role in ensuring equal access to the Colleges academic programs by helping facilitate appropriate accommodations and offering support to students with a variety of disabilities including but not limited to medical psychological and learning disabilities. Additionally in collaboration with the Dean of Students Office the temporary Case Manager will serve in a supporting capacity as a Student Success Advisor and contribute to the work of the Care Team.

Job Duties

  • 40% - Supports by assisting with the review and evaluation of accommodation requests and supporting documentation to help determine reasonable academic and housing accommodations for students. Under supervision participates in the interactive process to help ensure students accommodation needs are addressed effectively. Maintains accurate and comprehensive records for students receiving Disability Services and communicates policies and procedures to students faculty and staff as needed. Supports timely and accurate preparation and delivery of accommodation letters. Meets with students to provide ongoing administrative support including guidance on time management and learning strategies and refers students to other campus resources as appropriate. Acts as an advocate for students within the assigned caseload and serves as a liaison between students and faculty or staff on disability services and accommodations matters in coordination with the Disability Services Office. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Supports compliance with FERPA regulations by maintaining records and reports required by the College and relevant state and federal agencies concerning programs policies and trends. Provides support as a test proctor in the testing center as needed to facilitate accommodated testing. Collaborates with Emmons Wellness Center staff by assisting in the mentoring of psychological testing interns to aid in their training and development in disability services. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Advises students on available campus resources and helps connect them with appropriate services to foster academic and personal success. Participates in drop-in office hours to offer accessible support and conduct regular check-ins with students registered with Disability Services providing ongoing assistance within the scope of the temporary role. - (Essential)
  • 15% - As a contributing member of Oxys Care Team monitors incoming electronic Care reports and alerts relevant personnel to ensure timely student support. Participates in weekly Care Team meetings to assist with coordinating interventions and sharing updates. Supports the process of recommending academic flexibility to faculty and other parties when students face serious illness injury or hospitalization under the direction of the interim of Disability Services. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Assists students in navigating campus policies procedures and petition processes related to the Office of the Registrar Student Progress Committee Financial Aid and Residential Education and Housing Services. Provides guidance to help students understand requirements and supports them in completing necessary forms and applications working alongside permanent staff. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Perform other duties as assigned. - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree in Psychology Clinical Psychology Education Psychology Counseling Social Work or related field to position duties or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of experience working with individuals with a range of disabilities including psychological/psychiatric disorders learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
Ability to read and interpret psychological evaluations.
Proficient knowledge of ADA and Section 504 of the rehabilitation act and awareness of legal and ethical considerations in disability services in higher education.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint) Google
drives/folders/forms Adobe Acrobat Web Editing and social media applications or any
combination of productivity programs applicable to position responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing
potential problems and handling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy.
Strong commitment to a quality work product.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally in writing and electronically.
Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced in the ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies.
Demonstrated commitment to justice equity inclusion & diversity.
Demonstrated skill in adapting to and performing work effectively in high-volume high
accountability confidential environment with multiple and changing priorities.
Effective organizational logistical time management and planning skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects simultaneously prioritize and fulfill the functions of an office in a timely manner.
Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
Ability to provide effective leadership and training and to work effectively and professionally
across functions disciplines levels and with diverse groups.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing case management or student support services in a higher education setting.

EXPECTED HIRING RANGE: $25.00/hr-$30.00/hr
