Job Description

This position is a Hybrid position in the Tucson area

About the Job:

The Permit Coordinator has the ability to learn and read technical documents related to gas operations permit applications. Responsibilities will include permit coordination/submittals for City County State requirements to install gas main/services in Southern Arizona utilizing local county GIS systems. The Permit Coordinator will work/coordinate across various utility operation departments at a client office relying upon Sr. Technicians Engineers and Managers for supervision and guidance on industry knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Meets and exceeds established productivity and quality targets. Is mindful of project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Conducts communications in a professional and clear manner; communications are timely and in an appropriate format for the topic.
  • Identifies information to be communicated to the client and project stakeholders through team leads and project managers.
  • Completes design tasks for associated permit coordination. Tasks include but are not limited to tracking active permits and closures utilizing web based applications for GIS and city/county portal applications permit request forms Traffic Control Plan (TCP) Requests.
  • Managing multiple tasks with Calendar Management Tracking to ensure timely successful completion of projects resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction and company/departmental goal achievements.
  • Performs accurate updates/additions of new data to client records on all simple and some medium work content daily
  • Coordinates project permits to accomplish timely construction and meet client needs
  • Learns and incorporates company safety rules and policies company design standards and governing authority regulations into daily work and designs.
  • Self-checks work assignments prior to submitting for review completes work with minimal errors. Participates in peer reviews and QC reviews as applicable.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Entry level position: desire to learn and work in a technical field
  • Experience with web-based applications Microsoft Suite Outlook Adobe Acrobat and County GIS Website Navigation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in permit applications construction utility or pipeline industry preferred
  • Knowledge of Computer Aided Design or GIS Design is a plus
