Job Description

Starting Salary Range: $150000 - $171000 - position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met.

MISOs Solution Architect is responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders in designing prototyping and evaluating highly scalable solutions used to manage the power grid for 45 million people. Were looking for a collaborative problem-solver who values input from others and can communicate complex technical topics with clarity across diverse teams. The ideal candidate brings creativity efficiency and leadership to solution design while also mentoring others and delivering measurable business value. The Solution Architect will:

  • Design and develop prototypes proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and demonstrations to validate architectural solutions.
  • Create solution architectures and contribute reference implementations to MISOs Architecture Reference Library.
  • Drive cloud-readiness across the application portfolio through expert guidance and strategic advocacy.
  • Collaborate with internal Agile teams external vendors business stakeholders and architecture peers to deliver secure data-driven standards-based solutions.
  • Lead assessments of current state architectures define future state designs and develop actionable roadmaps.
  • Review update and propose technology standards to ensure alignment with enterprise goals and industry best practices
  • Deploy architectural tests or dashboards related to the codebase.

To be a successful Solution Architect we are looking for:

  • 10 years of technical experience in software engineering and architecture using modern technologies.
  • Proven ability to communicate architectural designs using modeling languages such as ArchiMate.
  • Strong design skills with experience translating architecture into reference implementations using CI/CD pipelines programming languages and modern development tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge technical vision with implementation ensuring alignment between architecture and engineering execution
  • Familiarity with the energy industry including energy markets reliability systems or infrastructure operations (preferred).
  • Continuing education and/or certification architecture-related frameworks preferred such as The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) Open Agile Architecture ArchiMate ITIL Cloud Architect certification (Azure AWS or OCI) and programmatic language certifications (preferred)

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience knowledge and skills.
