Job Description

Life Saving Victoria is Victorias peak water safety and lifesaving organisation built on the proud traditions and programs of our founding organisations the Royal Life Saving Society Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia.

Lifesaving has been an integral part of the Victorian way of life since 1904. Today LSV is a multifaceted volunteer-based community organisation with a focus on public safety and community wellbeing.

Our volunteers members employees and partners work together with communities educational institutions government agencies businesses and the broader aquatic industry to Save lives and empower communities to safely enjoy water.

Officer Water Safety Education Delivery

We have an exciting opportunity to join our aquatic capability and training team and be an active contributor to our Diversity and Inclusion education programs and projects.

Based either at our Port Melbourne Head Office or Carrum Downs Office and reporting into the Coordinator of Diversity and Inclusion Outreach this full-time position is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of a suite of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) education programs and projects targeted at multicultural communities seniors and those with disabilities.

The role has a number of internal and external stakeholders and requires excellent client management and proactive engagement with others. Tasks include:

  • Delivering LSVs suite of D&I education programs training courses and mentoring initiatives to these diverse communities and individuals.

  • Liaising with community groups and stakeholders to address aquatic education training and employment needs whilst exploring future project opportunities.

  • Assisting with the promotion coordination and administration of LSVs D&I education program and swimming lesson initiative.

  • Oversee the resource allocation including staff rostering and equipment management.

  • Identifying and report hazards monitor and assess risk and immediately report any injury near miss and damaged equipment or any other hazard observed in the workplace.

Who are you

You have an effective ability to lead and deliver water safety education and aquatic programs with strong administration skills and a continuous improvement will be an exceptional collaborator who is comfortable communicating at all levels. You will have excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.

Your enthusiastic approachable and can-do attitude will be the basis of your success in this role.

  • Proven ability to lead and deliver engaging education programs to diverse individuals and groups.

  • Experience in service delivery across education aquatic and/or recreational activity programs.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to develop and present innovative business cases.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with a knack for problem-solving and making decisions under pressure.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant digital tools.

  • A valid Australian Drivers Licence.

  • A current Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one).

  • A current SLSA Bronze Medallion or LSV Community Surf Life Saving Certificate and a Provide First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain them).
