Your Role
The Materials Management Planner is responsible for the maintenance and analysis of product inventory procurement of raw materials and ensuring the efficient and effective distribution of materials to internal and external customers. We require a conscientious outgoing tech-savvy individual who is highly capable and interested in learning the chemical distribution business.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of JIT delivery principles.
- Familiarity with ABC Analysis and Classification.
- Experience benchmarking products and measuring KPIs in logistics.
- Understanding of Distribution Requirement Planning.
- Knowledge in periodic inventory and sourcing strategies for raw materials.
- Demonstrate accuracy and resourcefulness.
- Capable of learning company products and processes.
- Utilize and remain up to date on product pricing and identify any variances.
- Assist with forecasting costs and gross profit margins.
- Monitor vendor quotations to ensure BSW is maintaining a competitive market position.
- Ability to assess and create bid packages.
- Conduct product development and evaluation studies using qualitative and quantitative approaches as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate data on current products and update the product database as needed.
- Research qualify and introduce new products and vendors to the Vice President of Materials Management and senior management group.
- Ability to analyze opportunity potential lost and calculate ROI.
- Perform special projects or additional duties as assigned by management.

- Organizational ability Demonstrates a systematic approach in carrying out assignments. Is very orderly and excels at cutting through confusion and turning chaos into order.
- Customer service skills Consistently ensures the customer (internal and external) is provided with attentive courteous and informative service. Gains and shows personal satisfaction from delivering great service.
- Intellectual ability Accurately and consistently follows instructions delivered in an oral written or diagram format. Ability to learn on the fly.
- Mathematical ability Ability to add subtract multiply and divide and to compute rate ratio and percent; ability to convert units of measurement and conduct simple business analytics.
- Computer skills Comfortably and confidently uses a computer and specialized software including but not limited to Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook AS400 or similar ERP system. Capable of quickly researching extracting data and presenting insightful and actionable information to leadership.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management Industrial Distribution Business or other related field or commensurate years of education and experience.
- 3 years of work experience in a similar role.
- Employment is contingent upon completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.
