The Performance Test Manager will lead a team of performance testers and collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure that applications and systems are tested for performance scalability and reliability. This role involves strategic planning execution and management of performance testing activities to meet business and technical requirements.
As a Performance Test Manager in the Managed Services Platform youll work as part of a team of problem solvers helping to solve complex business issues from strategy through execution and beyond. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this level include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of performance testers providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Allocate resources and manage workload distribution among team members to meet project deadlines.
Performance Testing Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive performance testing strategy that aligns with business objectives and technical requirements.
Define performance testing goals and objectives including metrics for success.
Test Planning and Design:
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather performance requirements and translate them into detailed test plans.
Design performance test scenarios scripts and test data that reflect real-world usage patterns.
Test Execution and Monitoring:
Oversee the execution of performance tests ensuring that they are conducted according to the plan and within the project timeline.
Monitor test results and system performance identifying bottlenecks and issues.
Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze performance test results to provide actionable insights and recommendations for system improvements.
Prepare and present detailed performance reports to stakeholders highlighting key findings and potential risks.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with development QA and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of performance testing with other testing and development activities.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders ensuring alignment and understanding of performance objectives and outcomes.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in performance testing.
Stay updated with the latest performance testing tools technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
Proven experience in performance testing with a minimum of X years in a leadership role.
Strong understanding of performance testing tools (e.g. LoadRunner JMeter Gatling).
Experience with performance monitoring and analysis tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies is a plus.
Performance Testing Experience:
A minimum of 6 years of extensive hands-on experience in performance testing including planning designing executing and analyzing performance tests.
Proficiency with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner JMeter Gatling or similar tools.
Understanding of performance testing methodologies and best practices.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud-based performance testing and monitoring solutions.
Familiarity with automation testing frameworks.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python JavaScript) for test automation.
Certification in performance testing or related fields (e.g. CPTE CPST).
