Job Description Summary

As a Clinical Application Specialist in Healthcare IT you will play a critical role in supporting and training healthcare professionals on clinical software applications. Your expertise will ensure that electronic health records (EHR) systems clinical decision support tools and other healthcare software are seamlessly integrated into clinical workflows ultimately enhancing patient care. Youll work closely with end-users providing tailored support and optimizing software to meet the specific needs of healthcare facilities.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive on-site and remote support to clinical staff troubleshooting and resolving issues related to clinical software applications.
  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs for healthcare professionals ensuring they can confidently use EHR systems and other clinical tools.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to understand their workflows customizing and configuring software applications to improve efficiency and patient care.
  • Support the implementation of new clinical software applications ensuring smooth deployment and integration with existing systems while providing essential go-live support.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from end-users to drive continuous improvement of clinical applications and work with development teams to enhance functionality.
  • Ensure that all clinical applications comply with healthcare regulations including data privacy and security standards while maintaining detailed documentation of support activities and system configurations.
  • Work cross-functionally with IT project management and clinical teams to ensure that software solutions align with clinical requirements and contribute to better patient outcomes.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in clinical software and healthcare IT participating in professional development activities to continuously enhance your expertise.

Skills and Qualifications

  • In-depth understanding of clinical workflows medical terminology and healthcare practices.
  • Proficient in clinical software applications particularly EHR systems and clinical decision support tools.
  • Strong communication skills capable of explaining technical information to clinical staff in an accessible way.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve application-related issues.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs for healthcare professionals with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Commitment to customer service with a focus on understanding and meeting the needs of clinical staff.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including IT and clinical departments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations related to clinical software including data privacy and security standards such as HIPAA.
