We are currently hiring for a Mission Specialist to play a key role in the architectural and design decisions impacting the Advanced Vetronics Systems portfolio of product solutions which provides next-generation technological advantages to the ground combat systems community. You will work closely with government military and industry stakeholders to identify gaps and areas of potential improvement within existing vetronics capabilities. Using these insights you will provide support and guidance on both development and testing to engineering teams.
The responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Define and document capabilities in the form of Concept of Operations and Operational Use Cases based on the customer vision and the needs of the end user
- Identify gaps and areas of potential improvement with existing AVS capabilities required to support the end user
- Interpret customer and end user feedback into opportunities to expand the AVS capability set
- Provide guidance and support to the development teams for the implementation and revision of capabilities within AVS
- Provide support guidance and recommendations to the stakeholder community which includes: government Army Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and other industry stakeholders
- Provide guidance and integration support to the AVS Verification and Validation team including review of test cases resolution of test discrepancies and analysis of test results
- Support and present at meetings with internal stakeholders as well as with the stakeholder community
- Support the development and execution of engineering plans process and schedules
- Assume responsibility ownership and accountability for deliverables and work products
- Assume responsibility and accountability for meeting program commitments and achieving program milestones
- Maintain and support the inventory of AVS sample and test equipment including the coordination of demonstrations and equipment field testing
Qualifications :
- Minimum 10 years of service in either the Canadian Army Canadian Army Reserves or equivalent international armed force
- In depth knowledge of general Army operations
- Specialization in Electronics Technologies in an operational environment is a desirable asset
- Knowledge and ability to identify and effectively communicate operational requirements operational context and the operational use of a capability
- Demonstrated initiative and strong verbal and written communications skills
- The ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment with minimum supervision
- Demonstrated capability of meeting commitments and delivering high quality work products
- Proven operational experience and expertise gained while serving with the Canadian Army Canadian Army Reserves or equivalent international armed force
It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed.
