Job Description

The Opportunity:

The Nurse Supervisor is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating clinical operations across all 24/7 Acute Care Services programs during the night shift hours. This includes guidance and support for all staff across multiple units including the Adult Behavioral Health Hospital Youth Behavioral Health Hospital Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit Lakeside Recovery and Crisis Center. The Nurse Supervisor ensures safe effective and compassionate care delivery in alignment with North Central Health Care policies regulatory standards and patient-centered care. Includes direct supervision of PM nurses approximately 9 FTE.

The starting pay range for this role is $43.37 to $47.23 based on education and experience. In addition this role will get a shift differential of $1.50 for 2:00pm-10:00pm and $2.50 per hour for 10:00pm -6:00am hours worked. This job is a full-time in person position.

What Youll Do:

  • Serve as the on-site administrative authority and primary point of contact for night shift issues.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and reassign resources as needed across units.
  • Responds immediately and calmly to all crisis situations assuring appropriate action intervention and follow-up care is provided. Responds to all calls for assistance.
  • Support and mentor staff addressing performance safety and patient care issues in real time.
  • Completes chart audits and other reviews to support continuous quality initiatives.
  • Participates in revising and creating policies and procedures to ensure quality care.
  • Maintain visibility and engagement across all service areas

  • Conduct rounds on all units and monitor care delivery ensuring adherence to protocols and best practices.
  • Respond promptly to medical or behavioral emergencies; ensuring policies are followed.
  • Consults with On-Call Behavioral Health Clinical Leadership for continuity of care resolution.
  • Collaborate with Nurse and Program Managers to assure consistent delivery of quality care professional standards of practice and adequate staffing over the 24-hour day.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

Required:

  • Registered Nurse with a Current Professional Nurse Registration from the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing
  • Minimum of three years of Acute Care or Behavioral Health nursing experience
  • Prior Supervisory or Charge Nurse experience
  • Current BLS (CPR) Certification

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience in behavioral health settings
  • Certification in Psychiatric Nursing
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles
  • Knowledge of verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques


Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge skills and abilities may be considered.
