Job Description

Job Title: Campus Special Programs Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Coordinator

Reports to: Principal Pay Grade: THS($66300 - $78185)

Dept./School: Crosby High School Date Revised: 5/6/19

Report Date: July 30 2025 Days to Work: 176/10 Months

Primary Purpose:

To supervise the administration training and reporting of all state-mandated assessment programs such as STAAR TELPAS and national programs as designated by the district to support district-based assessments in collaboration with campus academic leadership team. To provide district standardized reports to campus administration regarding assessment data and to support campus administration and staff in the use of data to inform decision making. To assist with special programs at-risk populations and 504 coordination as necessary.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelors degree from accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned

Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Exceptional organizational skills and detail oriented
    • Ability to maintain strict testing deadlines through efficient time-management
    • Working knowledge of campus testing programs
    • Knowledge and experience in computer software including relational databases (MS Access/Filemaker Pro) spreadsheets (MS Excel) and word processing/communications (MS Word PowerPoint)
    • Knowledge and experience using Eduphoria Skyward Texas Assessment Management System (TAMS) Texas Training Center
    • Ability to communicate technical and complex assessment data and concepts to varied audiences including school administrators teachers parents and studentsAbility to work with all staff effectively in a Professional Learning Community
    • Ability to maintain a professional calm and service-oriented demeanor during stressful situations

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years teaching experience

Specialized training in educational measurement and statistics preferred

Experience with the administration of STAAR exams preferred

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Examines campus district and state assessment data including STAAR TSI PSAT SAT ACT and/or AP focusing on trends with regard to teachers teams programs or processes and demographics to assist in decision making and action planning.
  2. Collaborates with campus administrators Department Chairs and others in the support of state-mandated testing programs national testing programs and district assessment programs.
  3. Communicate on a regular basis with SPED LPAC and 504 committees/personnel to ensure accurate test and accommodation assignments; ensure that Skyward data for special populations is accurate and up-to-date.
  4. Utilize technology to maintain accurate State testing information and support online testing program.
  5. Provides standardized district reports including Eduphoria (Aware) to campus administration Department Chairs and classroom teachers regarding assessment data.
  6. Supervises the appropriate accurate and ethical administration of standardized assessment activities.
  7. Trains campus staff to administer appropriately the instruments used in state and district testing activities.
  8. Collaborates with district level departments in the training and reporting involved with the state-developed STAAR assessments specific to special populations to ensure requirements are met for proper test administration and results reporting.
  9. Coordinates the security distribution and return of testing materials as required
  10. Serves as the primary contact at the campus level for all matters related to test security and confidentiality. Follows state and district rules and guidelines for the resolution of issues in these areas.
  11. Serves as the campus contact for the District Testing Coordinator for state testing programs and district-based assessment activities.
  12. Reads all testing coordinator directions and applicable manuals governing the administration of the student assessment program.
  13. Assist with special programs and coding as required
  14. Assist with academic intervention programs as required
  15. Assist with at-risk populations and 504 coordination as required
  16. Demonstrates a willingness to assume a leadership role.
  17. Works positively towards meeting identified district and campus improvement goals.
  18. Communicates effectively and regularly with a variety of teams at the campus and district level.
  19. Coordinates the annual testing calendar at the campus level.
  20. Participates in on-going training and development activities offered by the district.
  21. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

  • The periods immediately preceding and during district testing are often stressful and demand long hours.
  • Other projects may also require long hours.
  • The distribution of testing materials requires the handling of boxes that may weigh up to 40 pounds.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing stooping bending pulling and pushing.
