FACULTY OF EDUCATION

The Undergraduate Office in the Faculty of Education oversees all undergraduate Education programs including in-person and online Bachelor of Education degrees the Wabanaki BEd Adult Education programs and the DAUS program. The office also leads the development of new programs to address the evolving needs of todays educators.

WHAT WE OFFER

Full-time 2-Year Term Fredericton On-Campus

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri 7:45 am - 4:00 pm 36.25 hours per week (Summer Hours)

Salary Range: $50149 - $62686 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs the Coordinator Student Programs provides direct program coordinating to the 10-month BEd program proposed BEd online program DAUS program and Adult Education programs while supporting the coordinators of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) BEd and Wabanaki Bachelor of Education (WBEd) programs.

  • Advise prospective 10-month BEd students on admission requirements and undergraduate course planning.
  • Guide students on degree progress and eligibility for the 10-month BEd program.
  • Support students with course planning and teacher certification requirements; ensure correct course registration.
  • Advise UNB exchange students taking Faculty of Education courses with required approvals.
  • Liaise with NB Teacher Certification to verify teachable areas and transcript assessments for certification eligibility.
  • Maintain and operate an efficient advising and registration system for undergraduate Education students.
  • Update and edit BEd applications admission documents and acceptance packages.
  • Train advisors across UNB campuses on BEd FEAA and Adult Ed admissions requirements.
  • Assess transcripts for all 10-month BEd applicants; prepare files for Admissions Committee review.
  • Create and maintain applicant records through each stage of the admissions process.
  • Organize orientation for incoming 10-month BEd students.
  • Maintain SharePoint sites for BEd and FEAA programs.
  • Pull and analyze statistics related to BEd programs.
  • Conduct graduation audits throughout the year; submit final audits to the Registrar and NB Teacher Certification.
  • Serve as point of contact for grad audits in May/October for all undergraduate and certificate programs.
  • Book rooms for academic use including Orientation sessions.
  • Liaise with Education Society to set up MS Teams groups and post activities to SharePoint.
  • Maintain and update planning tools cohort contact lists application tracking and registration checklists.
  • Share communications with BEd cohorts regarding events job postings and relevant updates.
  • Support the Faculty of Education Awards Committee by providing student information.
  • Create and update marketing materials; manage all Faculty of Education social media content.
  • Participate in undergraduate student recruitment efforts.
  • Update and maintain content on the Faculty of Education website.
  • Membership on internal and external committees.
  • Assist with annual calendar updates; ensure consistency across multiple units.
  • Provide support to WBEd and ECE online BEd program coordinators as needed.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities and respond to information requests as assigned by the Associate Dean or Dean.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Experience working with post-secondary students in advising recruiting and/or student services roles.
  • Working knowledge of the New Brunswick Education system.
  • A combination of experience and education may be considered.

Additional Strengths

  • Experience working with UNB systems such as Informer 5 Colleague Cascade etc. would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of other education systems outside of New Brunswick is an asset.
  • Strong technical skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication organizational administrative and problem-solving skills particularly when supporting students.
  • High level of attention to detail and high degree of patience are essential.
