Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week
Shifts: Monday - Friday
Status: Full-Time 2-year contract (with possibility of extension)

The Gattuso Centre for Social Medicine seeks to address health inequities working alongside community organizations UHN clinicians marginalized populations persons with lived experience patients and all levels of policymaking to co-design evaluate and scale innovative data-driven programs that lead to better health. Applying a social determinants of health approach the Social Medicine Program aims to bridge health services and the broader social environment of UHNs most medically and socially complex patients with the highest needs through the design implementation research and evaluation of new care models and initiatives to address the health implications of inequity.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled organized and conscientious Research Analyst I with experience in conducting health services research and a passion for improving healthcare for marginalized populations. This role will support ongoing research and evaluation projects that are being conducted at the Gattuso Centre for Social Medicine.

Duties

  • Prepare research ethics board and quality improvement review documentation and amendments
  • Recruit and consent study participants to join research studies and evaluations
  • Support data collection activities including survey administration and interviewing
  • Support the completion of literature reviews including systematic and scoping reviews and environmental scans
  • Conduct qualitative data analyses
  • Prepare conference presentations and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
  • Complete project reporting including progress tracking as well as communicating study status and risks to lead personnel
  • Support the research and evaluation team with administrative duties as required
  • Liaise with colleagues of the Social Medicine Program related to research and evaluation tasks

Qualifications :

  • At minimum bachelors degree in health sciences public health psychology or other relevant discipline
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a research environment preferably conducting health services research and/or community-based research
  • Experience with quantitative data analysis is essential; ability to use SPSS R or another statistical software is a strong asset
  • Experience with qualitative research including data collection and analysis is a strong asset
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines complete deliverables and multi-task
  • Working knowledge of computers including Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with privacy requirements related to use and disclosure of patient health information is an asset
  • Proven ability to be resourceful learn quickly change directions and navigate complex decision making in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to work in a collaborative environment with diverse cross-functional teams 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication including strong presentations skills and attention to detail
