About the Role:
The Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) is seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst to support the Division of Securities and Retail Franchising with a software modernization initiative. The selected candidate will assist in the development of SERFIS a new work management system that will replace the division s legacy system.
The analyst will play a key role in gathering analyzing and documenting both functional and technical requirements working closely with business users and development teams to ensure successful software design and implementation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience eliciting and documenting functional and technical requirements for software applications.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into user stories use cases and technical documentation.
- Strong skills in requirements gathering techniques (interviews document analysis workshops).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Visio and SharePoint.
- Experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS) or Azure DevOps for work item tracking in Agile environments.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Education
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst in an IT/software development environment.
