The Preventive Maintenance and Parts Coordinator position within Kimball Electronics Group is an internal coordinator for equipment preventive maintenance and equipment spare parts activities. This equipment includes machines used to manufacture surface mount and through hole printed circuit boards; and associated equipment to test PCBs after manufacture.
Organizationally Preventive Maintenance and Parts Coordinator is placed within the Manufacturing Engineering branch of engineering working under the Technician Team Lead. Functionally the Preventive Maintenance and Parts Coordinator maintains preventive maintenance items as well as inventory levels for the equipment provides technical data on damaged parts/equipment and cost analysis of parts used. This groups primary focus is to maximize equipment up-time.
A Preventive Maintenance and Parts Coordinator working within the Technical Maintenance Group executes a variety of tasks. Tasks include:
- Leading/assisting with inventory counts
- Purchasing and maintaining spare parts inventory
- Overseeing MP2 Software
- Preventative Maintenance items and schedule
- Error proofing
- Training operators/technician
A successful Preventive Maintenance and Parts Coordinator is a self-motivated individual whom must understand inventory movement transactions to troubleshoot and discrepancies. Additionally a strong background in computer technology inventory audit process and navigation of various maintenance software.
Basic Requirements:
- A US person by ITAR definition
- Successfully Interview with relevant hiring team
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug test
- Successfully pass an electrical trouble shooting assessment
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing/maintenance
Key Performance Objectives
Week 1:
- Complete required HR Safety Quality RoHS and Benefits Orientation
- Complete IPC 6.10 Training and pass post training assessment
- Able to clock in and out of Kronos time keeping system
- Comply and have a thorough understanding of ESD controls and safe guards
- Open and close work request in Engineering SharePoint sites
- Understand location of in-shop tools and materials
- Utilize email

Week 2 6 months
- Maintain attendance record with less than a 2% absenteeism rate
- Demonstrate clear concise and non-offensive verbal communication
- Demonstrate safe and consistent utilization of equipment and applicable safety guards
- Complete Lock out / Tag out training
- Keep personal data up to date and accurate in ESS
- Understand 5S and suggest improvements
- Thorough understanding of drives and storage locations within the companys network
- Demonstrate the ability to self-manage a project and push to closure
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to calls and address root cause
- Understand and utilize project team listing to establish key contacts
- Communicate with customers and relevant team members to insure maximum understanding of equipment issues (i.e. safety concerns failure modes maintenance needs ergonomics etc.)
- Begin using and managing MP2 Software for PM structure.
- Demonstrate MP2 Inventory Controls
- Cycle Counting sheets and reporting
- PM item usage per machine and equipment sets
- Parts Investigation of failed components and repair reports of failed components
