The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is seeking an organized professional and results-oriented individual to serve as Chief Litigation Director. Subject to management approval this position will provide oversight to professional staff and managers. The position will assume line authority for the Departments litigation services and will serve as chief policy formulating administrator for agency policy through litigation matters involving DCFS staff programs and operations. Additionally the position will represent the Department before other state agencies and governmental entities private and public organizations and other community and professional groups while also serving as a principal liaison with the Attorney Generals Office. This position is a great opportunity for someone with the desire to use their legal skills to benefit child welfare services. Economic Interest
This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.) requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretary of State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement of Economic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission. (See Executive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings.
