Job Description

Life Saving Victoria is Victorias peak water safety and lifesaving organisation built on the proud traditions and programs of our founding organisations the Royal Life Saving Society Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia.

Lifesaving has been an integral part of the Victorian way of life since 1904. Today LSV is a multifaceted volunteer-based community organisation with a focus on public safety and community wellbeing.

Our volunteers members employees and partners work together with communities educational institutions government agencies businesses and the broader aquatic industry to Save lives and empower communities to safely enjoy water.

Officer Education Programs

We have an exciting opportunity to join our aquatic capability team and be an active contributor to our education and learn to swim programs.

Located at our Port Melbourne Head Office and reporting into the Coordinator of Education Programs this full-time position supports the delivery administration and promotion of the Life Saving Victoria education programs and resources. This includes assisting with scheduling bookings stakeholder engagement and leading education programs at aquatic venues in the community and in schools throughout Victoria. In this position you will:

  • Provide administration support for education program bookings and customer communications with excellent customer service.

  • Provide operational support to education casual staff in the delivery of Lifesaving education programs including excursions incursions and events for schools and community groups.

  • Act as a liaison for stakeholders involved in regional and partnership programs.

  • Assist the Coordinator in the recruitment and development of Education Instructors Team Leaders and Program Leaders through monitoring mentoring and reporting.

  • Provide administration for reporting processing of permits coordinating equipment and logistics and venue bookings and support the use and maintenance of relevant systems and platforms.

  • Support the wider Victoria region with the delivery of educational programs particularly over the school holidays.


Who are you

You are an experienced support officer with strong administration skills and a continuous improvement mind-set. You will be an exceptional collaborator who is comfortable communicating at all levels. You will have excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.

Your enthusiasm approachable nature and strong communication skills will be key to the success of this role. Additionally you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering education programs to people of all abilities.

  • Experience in project or program administration with the ability to meet deadlines demonstrate problem solving and decision-making skills as well as extensive computer skills including MS Office suite.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision lead teams as well as part of a group / team.

  • Community Surf Lifesaving Certificate or Bronze Medallion (or willing to obtain).

  • First Aid and CPR qualifications.

  • Must have or be able to obtain an employee Working with Children Check.

  • Drivers license and flexibility with working hours.
