Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS is seeking an Advocacy & Communications
Administrative Assistant to provide support to advance ACARs advocacy and outreach efforts. This position oversees the efficient coordination of communications committee support event logistics and member engagement adhering to exceptional standards of professionalism accuracy and responsiveness.
We are looking for a reliable organized and adaptable individual with a strong sense of personal accountability and a passion for serving others. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities with ease maintain order and efficiency in a fast-paced environment and support both internal teams and external stakeholders to advance ACARs advocacy and communications efforts. Responsibilities include:
Representing ACAR as a staff ambassador at events and meetings to promote the organizations mission and values
Collaborating with the Communications Department to coordinate and schedule guests for podcast recording video production and other AV pursuits
Preparing and sending correspondence (agendas minutes reminders meeting packets post-meeting follow-up) to committee members
Engaging with members and vendors to troubleshoot website mobile app and software issues and ensure timely resolution
Establishing priorities and managing personal workflow to maintain a focused and efficient path toward results
Performing general office duties including answering phones data entry scheduling photocopying mailing and filing
Providing outstanding customer service and assistance to members and other ACAR staff in a positive and courteous manner
Regularly updating association websites and the mobile app including posting pre-written blog content updating events proofreading and contributing content as needed
Assisting with event planning and execution including registration member check-in and tech-based support services
Assisting with mandated financial data reporting for the political action committee and community fund (as assigned)
Providing on-site tech support for meetings including troubleshooting Zoom connectivity and audiovisual equipment
Performing other duties as assigned
Knowledge and skills required:
Demonstrated ability to effectively use AI tools (e.g. Copilot ChatGPT) to increase productivity streamline tasks and enhance written communication -this is a core competency for the role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook Teams and PowerPoint)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working within WordPress including updating content and using plug-ins such as Cornerstone Gravity Forms HubSpot & Wufoo
Experience troubleshooting and providing basic tech support for office equipment (Mac & PC)
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to multi-task adapt to change and work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders
Experience:
Potential candidates should have at least 1-2 years of prior work experience in an administrative office environment or a similar role. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting day-to-day office operations managing multiple tasks with accuracy and providing professional customer service. Experience in proofreading written communications and supporting digital content such as newsletters blogs and website updates is strongly preferred. Experience writing blogs newspaper copy or op-eds is a plus! Prior experience leveraging AI tools to enhance administrative or communications work is strongly valued.
Education:
High school diploma or GED -Required
College degree in Public Affairs Interpersonal Communications Digital Communications or Office Administration is a plus!
AI Certification is a plus!
Microsoft Office Specialist Certification is a plus!
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range is $39000-$43000 yearly depending on experience. The compensation package includes a 401(k) with employer matching medical health vision and dental insurance.
