Machinist / Horizontal Lathe Machinist / Manual Technician
Machinist / Horizontal Lathe Machinist / Manual Technician required to join a precision turbomachinery and rotating equipment repair facility in South Houston TX.
The Manual Machinist will work on high-spec rotating equipment components applying advanced manual machining skills across turning milling drilling and threading operations. This is a full-cycle hands-on role ideal for a highly experienced machinist who can inspect repair and fabricate complex components to tight tolerances. Youll work with bearings babbitt casting custom metal prep and contribute directly to the rebuild of critical industrial equipment.

Machinist / Horizontal Lathe Machinist / Manual Technician Role
- Operate horizontal lathes manual mills and other manual machine tools to perform precision work on bearing housings shafts and rotating components
- Perform incoming inspections using micrometers calipers and dial indicators
- Work with flame spray tools hand grinders and welders as needed to prep and repair parts
- Cast new babbitt into bearings using custom foundry equipment and techniques
- Machine freshly cast components to exact tolerances (up to 0.0005)
- Read blueprints and G-code; interpret part drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Support non-destructive testing and inspection of completed parts
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment complying with all internal and customer safety standards
Machinist / Horizontal Lathe Machinist / Manual Technician Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 510 years of hands-on manual machining experience in a high-spec or industrial environment
- Strong background in turning milling threading and drilling
- Able to work from blueprints and detailed part drawings
- Proficient with micrometers calipers dial indicators and other precision tools
- Capable of holding tolerances down to 0.0005
- Familiar with babbitt removal repair or application (preferred)
- Experience with Omega machines and horizontal lathes preferred
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. standing kneeling reaching and climbing throughout the shift
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass background checks and drug screening
- Must not have allergies or restrictions related to working with aluminum copper bronze or steel
