Job Description

Teacher On Special Assignment (TOSA) - OSP - Alternative Programs 1.0 FTE Date Needed: 8/18/2025 10 month calendar

Internal &External applicants must submit: Talent Ed application current resume one current letter ofprofessional reference.

All External applicants must provide a copy of current license

Hiring Administrator: Amy Torres

GENERAL DUTIES:

Assists the Office School Performance (OSP) Team in implementation of the Hillsboro School District Strategic Plan

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A valid State of Oregon Teaching License appropriate for the position
  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
  • The ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • The ability to effectively work and communicate with students parents and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds
  • The ability to work harmoniously with others
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
  • Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications including but not limited to email and systems applications
  • The ability to learn new automated systems as they are brought online by the District
  • A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience plus a minimum of one year of leadership experience as a department chairperson team leader intern or instructional leader
  • Knowledge of and experience with effective instruction and assessment
  • The ability to work with multiple grade levels in elementary and/or secondary
  • A valid Oregon drivers license and a vehicle for work related travel
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Experience with Alternative Ed Experience with Proficiency Based Credit
  • Experience teaching Dual Credit Courses with Portland Community College
  • Experience with high school 4-year planning
  • Knowledge of Early College Experience in Recruiting
  • Plans and facilitates evening activities that include recruitment and registration
