About the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation
The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to eliminate compulsory unionism abuses through strategic litigation and public information programs.
The Right to Work principle affirms the right of every American to earn a living without being forced to belong to a union. Despite this principle millions of workers are compelled to associate with unions to keep their jobs.
Since 1968 the Foundation has provided free legal aid to individual workers to enforce and expand their rights against compulsory unionism. To this end Foundation attorneys have long been at the forefront of litigating key cases involving the First Amendment labor law administrative law and religious liberties. This includes litigating nearly every major Supreme Court case on compulsory unionism.
Position Overview
The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation seeks a self-driven Communications Associate to assist in its communications and development operations.
The Communications Associate will be responsible for writing a variety of material for different audiences. This can include press releases op-eds newsletter articles e-mail updates video scripts grant requests and reports and correspondence with donors. Other tasks may include monitoring and logging media hits and maintaining records of donor communications.
The position is part of a small communications and development team that works with the Foundations legal staff to convey to reporters to supporters and to the public at large the important work undertaken by the Foundations team of 18 attorneys in defense of workers individual rights. This role will report to the Vice President responsible for communications and development.
This is a full-time in-office position based at the National Right to Work Foundation headquarters in Springfield VA located on the Capital Beltway.
