Woodland Community College is seeking a courageous and visionary leader to successfully lead college institutional effectiveness activities resulting in continuously improving levels of student success. BASIC FUNCTION Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Services the Director of Matriculation and EOPS / CARE Program is responsible for providing leadership in the ongoing development implementation and assessment of categorical and other support programs at Woodland Community College. The College is implementing an Educational Master Plan and this position plays a key role in supporting this plan. Essential functions will include general program management coordinating the inclusion of special programs annual College Action Plans submitting program reviews and ensuring special program inclusion in the College Student Equity Plan. The Director of Matriculation and EOPS / CARE Program is also responsible for the development of procedures and policies to increase the effectiveness of the Colleges Student Services area and ensure student needs are met. The Director of Matriculation and EOPS / CARE Program is responsible for supervising staff and overseeing the day-to-day and programmatic areas of Admissions and Records EOPS / CARE the Food Pantry Outreach and Retention and other duties as assigned. Strategic Vision for the College and Its Students Reflected in External Partnerships: Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Services the Director of Matriculation and EOPS / CARE Program will leverage the institutions influence and resources to pave the way for ongoing student access and success by forging partnerships with outside entities including K-12 school districts four-year colleges community- based organizations and employers. Raise and Allocate Resources in Ways Aligned to Student Success: Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Services the Director of Matriculation and EOPS / CARE Program will develop resources to achieve significantly improved student outcomes by implementing well- designed institutional changes at scale and ensuring they are embedded for the long term.
Required Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for service as an educational administrator shall be both of the following: Possession of a masters degree AND One year of formal training internship or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrators assignment. Supervisory experience (formal or informal) in a community college setting. Experience and knowledge working with diverse student populations delivering equity-minded programming. Knowledge of community college policies and procedures. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to diverse populations. Knowledge of relationship building techniques. Understand enrollment and retention as it relates to the community college mission. Knowledge of student information and computer systems (Web browsers Microsoft Office Suite etc.). Ability to create and analyze data and spreadsheets. Considerable knowledge of regulations and laws related to retention and release of confidential data. Position requires local travel and occasional weekend hours. An EOPS Director must have two years of experience or the equivalent: In the management or administration of educational programs community organizations government programs or private industry in which the applicant dealt predominantly with ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language social or economic disadvantages or; as a community college EOPS counselor or EOPS instructor or have comparable experience in working with disadvantaged clientele; In addition an EOPS director shall have completed a minimum of six units of college-level coursework predominately relating to ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by educational language or social disadvantages.
