Job Description

Overview:

Work backstage during the Show as a Theater Show Crew Student Employee! Get first hand experience of what goes on behind the scenes while gaining experience in the Event Industry. This is your opportunity to assist with scenery and costume changes while meeting new people and building relationships with Oaktons Theater community.

Campus Location: Des Plaines

Length of Employment:

8/25 - 9/14 with hours from 5pm to 9pm Thursday - Saturday and 1pm to 5pm on Sundays.

Hours available:

15-20 hours per week

Schedule Flexibility:

Fixed scheduled

Tasks Duties and Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes:

-Presetting Scenery Props and costumes (CT)

- Assisting in scenery changes ( TW)

- Assisting in costume changes (TW)

- Collaborate with stage management team ( CM)

- Cleaning props and costumes as necessary (CT)

- Sweeping and Mopping (PF)

Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and Other Abilities):

- Must be enrolled at Oakton College in at least 6 credit hours during the spring semester. Employed over the summer is allowed for students taking at least 1 credit class during the summer or students continuing registration into the following fall semester.

- Must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher and be in good standing at Oakton College.

- Eligible to work in the United States.

-Good communication skills.

- Ability to lift 25 pounds

- Comfortable working in low light situations.
