Job Description

The Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that support United Heritage Credit Unions brand business goals and culture. If you are a strong writer who has experience shaping and promoting an organizations public image this is the role for you! Strong and clear communication while leveraging your content management skills will be essential to your success in this role.

This role will be a hybrid position located in Austin TX with flexible in-office and remote days.

In this role with UHCU you will get to:

  • Create all operational member communications (e.g. eStatements policy notices service alerts rate changes).
  • Draft edit and execute member notifications using appropriate platforms (e.g. core email system online banking print/mail systems).
  • Coordinate with Compliance and other departments to ensure timely accurate delivery of content.
  • Responsible for the creation of all public-facing written communications including press releases executive messaging and public statements.
  • Responsible for coordination of crisis management communications as necessary including maintaining crisis response playbooks that are consistent with brand voice.
  • Provide communications support before during and after credit union events (e.g. press branch openings sponsorship activations).
  • Draft and manage event-related communications including media advisories press kits and recaps.
  • Lead creation of the Annual Report including content development executive coordination design compliance and production.
  • Manage long-form corporate content projects such as board communications or organizational milestones.
  • Document member journey communications across all major product lines (e.g. onboarding loan fulfillment service) and partner with the applicable teams to align communications with campaign efforts.
  • Identify touchpoint gaps overlaps or inconsistencies and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain a master communications calendar covering operational notices marketing campaigns and corporate announcements.
  • Ensure all communications follow legal compliance and QA protocols.
  • Execute the corporate communications strategy including oversight of visual design and policies to enhance the efficiency of the department resources and to further develop the building and maintenance of a positive corporate brand.
  • Perform other work as assigned.

What you will need to succeed:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Communications Marketing Business English Journalism or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated communications experience with strong attention to detail.
  • Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and supportively with individuals groups management and other organizational units to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Excellent writing skills enhanced attention to details and ability to navigate ambiguous issues to create concise messaging and plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under deadline constraints while managing multiple projects adhering to prescribed budgets and schedules.
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook with strong technical and computer skills. Experience with technical writing and research skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with InDesign Photoshop and digital signage systems.
  • Act as a partner to the business functions to address general customer communications.
  • A track record of highly visible work while collaborating closely with senior executives as a strategic communications counselor on communications strategies and activities.
