*Job Title- Therapeutic Services Instructor
*Job Type Certified - Position - Teacher Vocational - Other

This position will work at Spring Mills High School and Martinsburg High School.

Requirements:

Wage-Earning Experience Complete four years (8000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the occupation for which licensure is requested; OR

Bachelors Degree. Hold a bachelors degree AND complete two years (4000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which licensure is requested; OR

Associate Degree. Hold an Associate Degree in an area related to the specialization AND complete two (2) years (4000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which licensure is requested.

Completion of a full year of training from an approved education program in the specialization may count toward a half year of the work experience requirements. Relevant teaching experience may count as equal to work experience requirements. Must complete all requirements of the WV Department of Education in order to obtainand maintain a West Virginia teaching license.

Required Industry Credentials for CTE Certification: Valid West Virginia License as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses.

Must complete all requirements of the WV Department of Education in order to obtain and maintain a West Virginia teaching license:

  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining training required to teach Therapeutic Services
  • Responsible for planning and implementing WV Content Skill Sets
  • Responsible for implementing adopted and supplemental academic programs
  • Must possess intermediate computer skills.
  • Responsible for implementing the Simulated Workplace protocols
  • Be accountable for individual student achievement
  • Maintain student and program records and reports
  • Be willing to become an active advisor on local state and national level to the Student Organization HOSA and/or SkillsUSA Maintain an advisory committee comprised of industry professionals.
  • May be responsible for planning and implementing designated co-curricular activities and/or programs at the school such as curricular fairs awards programs and field trips
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and practical areas and provide for proper care and maintenance of equipment
  • Strong working/communication skills with students and peers
  • Develop and deliver instructional curriculum in the classroom and lab through structured opportunities presented in a clear concise manner.
  • Maintain an orderly controlled and safe environment for our students in classrooms and labs.
  • Arrange and supervise students in clinical experiences
  • Ensure training aids tools and equipment are maintained and prepared for use in the classroom and lab.
  • Supervise and hold students accountable while promoting learning participation motivation and professionalism.
  • Test evaluate and communicate performance and progress with students and school administration in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain curriculum accuracy by keeping up-to-date on the industry
  • Demonstrate and teach small business principles in a live lab setting
  • Willing to implement any other programs designated by Principal for school improvement
  • Includes supervisory and/or other duties as assigned by the Principal

Essential Skills: Computer skills. Communication skills (verbal and written) Interpersonal and instructional skills and abilities. Problem solving and multi-tasking skills can adapt to a changing fast-paced environment. Motivated and professional with a positive attitude.
