SURGE SUPPORT TEAM Maintenance Supervisor

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA

Program Summary

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned coordinated and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Job Summary

As the Surge Support Team Maintenance Supervisor you will report directly to the Shipboard Manager and ensure all contractual matters are accomplished to include all reporting requirements. You will coordinate on island and shore-based COSIS (Care of Supplies in Storage) activities while advising the Shipboard Manager on the status of maintenance requirements supply status and related reports monthly. You will be responsible for all Property Book duties on all classes of supply ranging from Class I through IX.

  • Utilizes GCSS-MC input from MMO section to evaluate readiness posture establishes positive control over the publication program forecasts equipment failure rates establishes and monitors the calibration program.

  • Follows all provisions of the Statement of Work (SOW).

  • Oversees and directs MCPP Maintenance activities on island and/or temporary assignment to vessel or shore-based sites to ensure the continuous maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment including exercising of equipment.

  • Supervises mechanics/technicians and ensures compliance with administrative policies procedures government regulations and interfaces with customer representatives.

  • Performs administrative and management responsibilities to ensure an overall operation.

  • Provides technical guidance/assistance and makes decisions where guidelines are not available.

  • Evaluates equipment performance and prepares reports including recommendations as required.

  • Trains personnel on equipment operations and maintenance and ensures employees adhere to all safety requirements procedures and policies.

  • Assigned Communications Security Material Systems (CMS) Local Holder (LH) Custodian.

  • Exercises equipment and prepares documents as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of direct experience with supervisory/management experience in military related fleet management maintenance or supply chain management.

  • Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Due to this you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position.

  • Requires 70% OCONUS travel.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

  • Able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Must possess a valid U.S. state drivers license.

  • Must pass a comprehensive physical examination (Military Sealift Command Standards) drug screening and detailed background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Marine Corps Military Occupational Specializations:; Army 91B30 91X 91Z 120A 915A 915E and 919A; or other service branch equivalent.
