Housing Stabilization Services Navigator

Sites: St. Paul Opportunity Center & Higher Ground St. Paul

Wage Range:$22.50 - $26.30/hourly

General schedule: 9:00am to 5:00pm or 12:00pm to 8:00 pm; based on site need

Our programs for children families and adults serve more than 25000 people every year. As the need for our services grows Catholic Charities is working to adapt and respond with strategies that prevent poverty meet basic needs in times of crisis and create pathways to greater stability.

JOB SUMMARY: Catholic Charities seeks a passionate and dynamic advocate who is compassionate trauma-informed and culturally aware to join us as a HSS Navigator.

The CCTC Emergency Services Housing Navigator provides Housing Stabilization Services Housing Navigator provide person-centered housing-focused support to eligible individuals experiencing homelessness utilizing the St. Paul Campus Adult Emergency Services programs. The Housing Navigator supports unsheltered individuals by providing housing-focused services aimed at securing and maintaining stable housing. Housing Navigators provide person-centered housing-focused support to individuals experiencing homelessness using evidence-based practices Critical Time Intervention and Motivational Interviewing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Direct Client Support:
    1. Spend 75% of time performing billable services such as housing searches landlord mediation and service coordination.
  2. Administrative Tasks:
    1. Allocate 25% of travel and non-billable administrative duties including attending agency training team meetings and managing communications.
  3. Client Outcomes:
    1. Develop individualized housing plans tailored to client needs.
    2. Provide ongoing support to clients to sustain housing stability and self-sufficiency.
  4. Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in human services or related field preferred with minimum of two (2) years of experience working with a specific client group.
    1. In lieu of degree a minimum of three (3) years of experience working with a specific client group is required.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and proof of current insurance coverage if transporting clients.
  • Ability to work with diverse and/or low-income populations including those who may be experiencing homelessness unstable housing and/or mental illness required.
  • Additional training education or licensure may be required per program need.
