Job Description

As our Director of International Sales you will be the strategic leader and global brand ambassador for two of our most vital growth segments: International meetings and Leisure. Reporting to the VP Sales your mandate is to architect and execute the international sales strategy.

You will directly lead our dedicated sales team and provide leadership to the Head of International Leisure Sales. Your mission is to drive significant revenue growth by positioning Strawberry as the premier partner for international groups and travelers coming to the Nordics. This requires forging powerful partnerships representing Strawberry on the world stage and ensuring your teams work in seamless collaboration with our hotels and regional partners to deliver unforgettable experiences.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Global Market Growth:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive international sales strategy to drive high-value business to Strawberrys portfolio of hotels.
  • Analyze global market trends to identify and penetrate key geographic source markets (e.g. North America UK DACH Asia-Pacific).
  • Set ambitious revenue targets KPIs and budgets for both international meetings and Leisure segments utilizing Salesforce to track performance and guide strategy.
  • Act as the senior-level voice for international sales within Strawberry providing insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

International M Sales Leadership:

  • Directly lead coach and inspire the International sales team to proactively hunt for and win new business from international corporations associations and agencies.
  • Cultivate and own senior-level relationships with key clients Professional Conference Organizers (PCOs) and industry bodies.
  • Champion the Strawberry brand at major international trade fairs workshops and sales events ensuring we make a powerful impact and generate a strong pipeline of leads.

International Leisure Sales Oversight:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Head of International Leisure Sales (direct report).
  • Oversee the strategy for contracting with key international tour operators wholesalers etc. to grow our share of the leisure market.
  • Ensure the Leisure Sales team is effectively representing Strawberry at relevant trade shows and events building the partnerships that drive consistent room-night production.

Destination Partnership & Collaboration:

  • Forge deep collaborative partnerships with national and regional tourism organizations and Destination Management Companies (DMCs).
  • Work in lockstep with our internal sales functions within the hotel divisions to ensure a unified approach seamless lead handling and flawless event execution.
  • Position your team as the central point of contact for international organizers leveraging our partnerships to sell not just hotels but compelling holistic destination experiences.

Who you are

  • Extensive (7 years) experience in a senior international sales role within the hospitality or tourism industry with a strong focus on Leisure segments.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role with a track record of developing high-performing international sales teams.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing international sales strategies that have delivered significant revenue growth.
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience in complex international contracting.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills with the ability to act as a compelling brand ambassador on a global stage.
  • Fluent in English is a requirement; proficiency in other languages is a significant asset.
