Job Description

Pay Grade/Pay Range:Minimum: $68500 - Midpoint: $89100 (Salaried E11)

Job Summary:The Director of Athletics Building Envelope oversees the maintenance of athletics facility building envelopes and structural components ensuring long term durability and weatherproofing. Manages a small team project schedules and budgets in collaboration with engineers and contractors while maintaining compliance with building standards. Evaluates building performance documents work and leads meetings to guide maintenance and budget planning.

Additional Department Summary:Ensures maintenance of all athletics facilities building envelopes and high-performance coatings and structural components including waterproofing systems roofing and sealants. Diagnoses and addresses structural issues such as cracks leaks or material failures by applying trade-specific skills. Reads and interprets construction documents blueprints and plans to execute repairs accurately and in accordance with specifications. Applies specialized techniques and materials to ensure weatherproofing durability and compliance with general construction standards. Documents work performed including observations and recommendations for project records. Supervises and guides a team of employees providing training task assignments and performance feedback. Works closely with the structural engineer to review plans confirm repair methods and ensure alignment on project outcomes. Manages schedules materials and resources for assigned projects to meet deadlines budgets and productivity goals. Communicate with team members contractors and consultants to coordinate efforts and resolve issues promptly. Schedules and implements project needs to ensure efficient and timely execution. Attends project meetings including leading meetings as required to facilitate collaboration and project success. Conducts critical evaluations of building envelope performance to inform maintenance strategies and short-term and long-term budget forecasting.

Required Minimum Qualifications:Highschool diploma or GED and ten (10) years of building envelope repairs waterproofing structural maintenance or masonry experience; OR associates degree and eight (8) years of building envelope repairs waterproofing structural maintenance or masonry experience; OR bachelors degree and six (6) years of building envelope repairs waterproofing structural maintenance or masonry experience; OR masters degree and four (4) years of building envelope repairs waterproofing structural maintenance or masonry experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge:Ability to read and understand construction documents blueprints and technical plans. Practical knowledge of building materials tools and techniques for envelope and structural repairs. Ability to lead small teams and manage projects in a construction setting. Strong problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented approach to craftsmanship. Effective communication skills for working with engineers staff and clients.
