Job Description
We founded Coup to give companies freedom to innovate.
Coup helps startups get public funding allowing them to reclaim up to 35% of their R&D cost. We support our customers from the initial funding application process to yearly payouts with a winning combination of a cutting-edge software platform and bespoke professional consulting services. This way since being founded in 2021 Coup has helped over 125 startups receive many millions in funding.
Now we are looking for a (Senior) Product Designer to help us evolve our software platform. Join us and help more startups get Couped!
Working at Coup
We are a small Product & Tech team yet we are building a complex platform which customers use in different phases across multiple years.
This is possible because the team shares a strong intuition about design concepts. As a product designer at Coup you can focus on developing conceptually & visually strong designs but dont have to painstakingly design every frame. We are quick to implement designs and test them and then iterate if needed. Having power-users of our platform in the form of Coups consultants in-house further strengthens this approach.
Initiatives for improvements or new features come from any employee at Coup (often from consultants based on customer feedback). For this to work you should equally like taking initiative. And while initiatives typically come from individuals we implement them as a team. Meaning: recognition is shared and individuals arent blamed for mistakes.
Tasks
As (Senior) Product Designer you are central to the development of our software platform. Your tasks include:
- Develop ambitious visions & roadmaps for Coups platform striving for the best possible customer experience & driven by new technologies
- Spot opportunities to improve the user experience of the platform
- Create mockups and/or designs in Figma or ideally even prototypical in Code concerning improvements new features or even new products
- Evolve our design language and corresponding component system
- As we share product management responsibility across the Product & Tech team: specify tickets Q/A test and continuously evaluate made changes
Requirements
- Multi-year experience as a product designer for web-based software ideally with a background in FinTech
- You are up-to-date with contemporary design patterns and you have a strong intuition and perspective on how to solve the customers problems
- Experience with design (Figma) and product management (Linear Hotjar) tools and ideally a solid technical understanding (web technologies)
- You work autonomously analytically and goal-oriented - we iterate quickly at Coup and rather test out designs quickly than perfecting them exhaustively upfront
- You love to learn and prosper as well as to share and educate
- You have effective written and verbal communication skills both in English and German - no matter if you communicate with developers customers or non-technical users
