Our Christchurch Supply Chain Operations team has a permanent full-time position available for aSupport Engineer in the Materials QA team. This role is responsible to ensure that all Air NZ owned product and external vendor equipment is managed in a way that is conforming to all Air NZ policy and regulatory requirements at the same time seeking economical advantage for Air NZ. 

The challenge for this role is the ability to maintain a very high standard of quality control while trying to satisfy very tight processing timeframes due to critical aircraft requirements. Timely availability of aircraft products is essential to the airlines operation. 

This role offers a variety of job tasks and the satisfaction of meeting constantly changing priorities in a fast-paced operational workplace - no two days are ever the same. 

If you are an Aircraft Engineer and have a strong quality focus particularly with respect to attention to fine detail and enjoy working in a challenging environment this opportunity may be for you. We want a committed team member who achieves high standards with regards to performance safety customer service and adherence to company values and procedures. 

To be successful in the role you will need to have: 

  • Completed an Aircraft Engineering trade or equivalent qualification with 5 year trade experience 
  • Strong communication reporting and presentation skills both written and verbal to all levels of the business 
  • The drive to meet deadlines and expectations while demonstrating a very high level of accuracy 
  • Proficient in the use of SAP 
  • Proficient in review of Service Bulletins and other approved and acceptable data 
  • The ability to work autonomously being a self-starter yet work equally well as an engaged team player.
