Job Description

Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO)Business Manager is critical in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of Incarnate Word High School. This position oversees all financial operations manages the physical plant and supports the schools mission while upholding its Catholic values.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to ensure the schools financial sustainability.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget financial forecasts and financial reporting.
  • Oversee accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable payroll and financial audits.
  • Work with the schools leadership to prioritize resource allocation and maintain fiscal accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations accounting standards and internal policies.

Investment and Financial Planning:

  • Provide financial analysis and support for long-term strategic planning.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow investments and financial reserves.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors on financial issues and strategies.

Physical Plant Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of the schools facilities including safety security and environmental compliance.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance plan for all physical plant assets.
  • Manage construction renovation and improvement projects as needed ensuring adherence to budget and timelines.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of school facilities for school programs and events.

Team Leadership and Communication:

  • Supervise business office staff and facilities management personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment encouraging professional development for team members.
  • Act as a liaison between faculty staff and external vendors regarding financial and facility matters.

Mission Alignment:

  • Support and promote the Catholic identity and mission of the school through all financial and operational decisions.
  • Engage with parents staff and the community to enhance school culture and involvement.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance Accounting or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management preferably within an educational or non-profit setting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.
  • Proven experience in facilities management and project oversight.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Commitment to the Catholic mission of the school and understanding of Catholic education.
