Term/Status: Permanent Full-time (70 hours bi-weekly)
Classification/Salary: Social Program Officer R30 - position starts at $90797 annually

About the opportunity:

As a Cultural Safety Lead at CLBC you will be responsible for advancing Indigenous Cultural Safety and the practice of cultural humility at Community Living BC. As a key member of the Indigenous Relations team you will support the development of a cultural safety framework and plan relevant to the values and strategic direction of the organization and the community inclusion movement. This includes supporting the development of strategic priorities to address the needs of Indigenous self-advocates and their families; alignment with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and its principles; and guided by UNDRIP partners and our Indigenous Advisory Committee.

Key responsibilities:

This role requires a high level of knowledge and understanding of BC Indigenous issues including the history and impact of residential schools intersections of disability with culture and steps to implement the Provincial Governments mandated Calls to Action.
