We have partnered with a progressive legalfirm who are seeking a skilled and experienced Private Client Lawyer to join their Wills and Probate team in Northampton. The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload with a focus on probate wills trusts powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage estates from instruction through to final distribution
- Apply for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
- Handle tax matters (Inheritance Income and Capital Gains Tax)
- Oversee asset collection liabilities and estate accounts
- Advise on tax planning and prepare Deeds of Variation
- Take client instructions and assess capacity when necessary
- Provide tax advice and draft complex wills
- Prepare statutory wills as needed
- Offer comprehensive advice on trusts and tax implications
- Draft trust documentation and assist with tax mitigation strategies
- Advise and draft Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Register Enduring Powers of Attorney
- Act as a Certificate Provider
- Manage clients financial affairs (with or without Power of Attorney)
- Handle DSS benefit applications and advise on care funding
- Knowledge of social care and CHC funding is an asset
- Submit Deputyship applications and ensure compliance with court orders
- Manage the affairs of patients under Court of Protection
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management
The Ideal Candidate:
- The ideal candidate will have 4 years PQE.
- SFE and STEP membership is an advantage.
