Job Description: Healthcare Revenue Cycle Financial Analyst Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Healthcare Revenue Cycle Financial Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing the financial performance of the healthcare revenue cycle by analyzing data identifying trends and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and revenue collection. This position requires a deep understanding of healthcare billing coding and payment systems along with strong financial analysis skills. Key Responsibilities- Revenue Cycle Analysis: Evaluate and optimize various components of the revenue cycle including patient registration billing collections and payment processing.
- Data Reporting: Create detailed financial reports dashboards and forecasts to monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Trend Identification: Analyze historical and real-time data to identify trends inefficiencies and opportunities for revenue improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with revenue cycle staff clinical teams management and outsourcing organizations to address revenue cycle inefficiencies and recommend actionable solutions.
- Compliance: Ensure that all revenue cycle activities comply with applicable healthcare regulations including HIPAA and payer requirements.
- Denials Management: Identify denial trends identify root causes and work with the team to develop strategies to mitigate denials at their source.
- Process Improvement: Identify process enhancements to streamline workflows and reduce costs.
- Technology Utilization: Identify opportunities to leverage revenue cycle management systems and financial software to maximize operational efficiency.
Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Healthcare Administration or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.
- 25 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management or financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare billing coding systems (such as CPT ICD-10 and HCPCS) and payer requirements.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools such as Excel Tableau or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) and revenue cycle management systems (e.g. Epic Cerner or Meditech).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
Preferred Skills- Certification in healthcare management or finance such as CHFP CRCR or HFMA.
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
- Understanding of value-based care models and their impact on revenue cycles.
