SUMMARY:Assist in providing for the security and protection of all students staff and property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the general security of all District facilities. Work hours may vary with adjustment made to benefit the district.
  • Monitors and reports unauthorized personnel on district property
  • Monitors any open doors and including school buses windows and gates and secures them
  • Monitor for lights heat and/or air conditioning units that may have been left operating and take appropriate action
  • Inspects cafeteria freezers to ensure adequate operation
  • Maintains a close rapport with local police authorities
  • Reports any break-ins vandalism etc. to local police authorities and appropriate principal or department head
  • Completes required paperwork such as daily security log offense reports etc. and submits to appropriate personnel
  • Reports to supervisor any abuse misuse or unauthorized use of school property observed during security checks
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students employees community members and vendors
  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

LICENSING:

  • Obtain and maintain a validArizona Class D License.
  • Submit to annual and random Drug and Alcohol Testing.
  • Acceptable driving record for the last (3) three years.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Safety practices and expectations.
  • Standard practices methods and materials of assigned work.
  • Occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices.
  • Basic mathematical reading and writing concepts.
  • Uses and properties of supplies and equipment.
  • Customer service principles.
  • Modern office technology.

  • Following directions and meeting standards.
  • Providing attention to detail in assignments.
  • Comprehending reference books and manuals.
  • Operating assigned tools and equipment.
  • Maintaining safety and security of individuals property and equipment.
  • Interpreting and applying applicable laws codes regulations and standards.
  • Providing customer service.
  • Utilizing a computer and relevant software applications.
  • Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers supervisors the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class require: stooping crouching reaching standing walking fingering grasping feeling talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor office and outdoor environment including exposure to loud noise and being on your feet.
