The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Legal Clinic is a national clinical program offering legal services to early-stage Canadian entrepreneurs. The Clinic provides law students with experiential learning in business law while addressing barriers to legal access for underserved business founders. Students will support startup clients virtually under the direct supervision of the instructor. Legal topics include business formation and structuring contract drafting intellectual property employment law and legal risk management for Canadian startups.

Requirements:

The Common Law Section is seeking candidates who are leaders in the legal profession. An LL.B. J.D. or equivalent is required for this position. Active membership in good standing in the Law Society of Ontario and Lawpro insurance are also required. The successful candidate will have significant practical experience related to business law and advising entrepreneurs in areas such as business formation and structuring contract drafting intellectual property employment law and legal risk management. Prior teaching experience especially using experiential learning will be considered an asset.

The Common Law Section reserves the right to select a candidate who does not fully meet each of these requirements where the candidates selection would be beneficial to the program the course the students or for a related reason.

The candidate may be required to teach this course either online in-person or hybrid mode at the discretion of the Faculty and in accordance with public health guidelines.

An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
