Position: Assistant Athletic Director
Location: Caledonia High School-Duncan Lake Middle School
Reports To: Athletic Director
Compensation:Competitivesalary with a robust benefit package
Start Date: Mid to Late July 2025
Position Summary
This position supports the Athletic Director in the leadership management and supervision of the Caledonia Community Schools 6th-12th grade Athletic Programs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Provide leadership and act as liaison to school athletic booster groups on behalf of coaches.
Serve on district-wide committees as needed.
Supervise and evaluate all middle school coaches and selected high school coaches.
Oversee all athletic department personnel contest employees and game-day volunteers.
Supervise 6th12th grade athletic contests acting as host for officials and visiting schools.
Initiate the recruitment selection and recommendation for employment of middle and high school coaches.
Support coaches in scheduling athletic contests and ensuring compliance with MHSAA and Board policies.
Ensure all coaches complete mandatory MHSAA training programs.
Oversee scheduling of all 6th12th grade athletic contests.
Issue contracts for contests and maintain appropriate records.
Ensure proper preparation for and supervision of home contests.
Arrange for contest supervision personnel as needed.
Maintain open communication with district stakeholders.
Communicate with middle and high school parents regarding athletics-related concerns.
Keep principals fully informed about all significant athletic program matters.
Possess and apply knowledge of Title IX rules and regulations.
Ensure officials are scheduled for all high school contests issue contracts and manage payments.
Verify and maintain files on contracted officials.
Ensure athletic eligibility lists are prepared and accurate for both middle and high school levels.
Coordinate transportation for all athletic contests.
Hire middle and high school game managers in collaboration with the District Athletic Director.
Hire and supervise student and adult game workers.
Order athletic equipment and maintain current inventory.
Manage all athletic funds.
Prepare and administer a detailed budget for middle and high school athletic programs.
Submit budget proposals to the building principal and finance director.
Attend middle school conference athletic meetings monthly.
Attend high school conference league and district meetings.
Consult with the District Athletic Director and building principals regularly.
Foster a positive culture for students student-athletes staff and the broader community.
Perform other duties as assigned by the District Athletic Director Principal or Superintendent/Designee.
