About the Team & the Position

The focus of the Cloud Services Manager role is to lead the Cloud Services team driving infrastructure standards to improve the consistency and effectiveness of our Enterprise Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Patterns. The role owns all infrastructure deployments in Microsoft Azure which is predominately PaaS based services (AKS Databricks SQL PaaS Storage Accounts Key Vaults etc). The role requires strong financial acumen to lead the governance and tagging across of all Azure within AEMO and manage team budget.

Position Responsibilities

• Team Management: Lead a team of Cloud Engineers and Cloud Designer to create and maintain Azure Enterprise IaC Patterns (environment is 100% IaC). Encourage adaptability and innovation across the team. Own financial team budget.
• Azure Deployments (DevOps) Ownership: Maintain all Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) deployments and lifecycle in Microsoft Azure environment is predominately PaaS based services (AKS Databricks SQL PaaS Storage Accounts Key Vaults etc). Ensure the deployment processes are fully automated consistent repeatable and scalable.
• Azure Connectivity: Own Enterprise Hub and all ingress/egress of network traffic across all of Azure.
• Azure Infrastructure Standards: Primarily Naming Standard Tagging Standard Azure Detailed Designs etc..
• Azure financial Governance Ownership: ensure all deployments are tagged to appropriate cost centres for charge back purposes. Own Azure Billing PowerBI Report used by Cloud cost owners (Project Managers and Cost Centre holders). Encourage AEMO wide Azure cost optimisation.
• Azure Architecture Knowledge: Work with Architects (Cloud Infrastructure and Security) and other Solution Designers to refine solution designs. Have strong technical knowledge of Azure cloud architecture. Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure services and features as they evolve.

Position Requirements

Skills & Experience:

• A mandatory detailed knowledge of Azure PaaS services.
• Strong experience with containerisation (Azure Kubernetes Service preferred).
• Proven experience with public cloud network technologies such as Palo Alto firewalls F5 load balancers Ingress Controllers and routing.
• Strong financial acumen to manage budgets and own financial governance of all of Azure

Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.

Education/ professional Certifications:

• Tertiary level qualifications in IT Computer Science or technology discipline ideal
• Certifications in relevant technologies is desirable.
