Job Description
Job Title: Security Firewall Administrator (L3/L2
Location: Mumbai - BKC
Job Type: Full-Time on Site - Rotational
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting: Provide hands-on L2 / L3 level troubleshooting for complex issues across Checkpoint Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls.
- Issue Identification: Quickly identify and diagnose firewall-related issues including connectivity problems performance degradation and security breaches.
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform in-depth root cause analysis to determine the underlying causes of firewall issues leveraging logs packet captures and other diagnostic tools.
- Resolution Implementation: Develop and implement effective solutions to resolve identified issues ensuring minimal disruption to security operations.
- Configuration Review / Rule review : Conduct thorough reviews of firewall configurations to identify and rectify misconfigurations or suboptimal settings.
- Policy Management: Analyze and troubleshoot firewall policies and rules to ensure they are correctly implemented and do not conflict with other security measures.
- Incident Response: Collaborate with incident response teams to address and mitigate security incidents involving firewall breaches or vulnerabilities.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize firewall performance by adjusting configurations updating firmware and applying patches as necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of troubleshooting processes resolutions and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference.
- Vendor Coordination: Work closely with firewall vendors to escalate and resolve complex issues that require vendor support or intervention.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to L2 administrators helping them develop their troubleshooting skills and knowledge.
Tools and Technologies:
- Checkpoint: SmartConsole SmartDashboard
- Palo Alto: Panorama CLI
- Cisco: Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM) Firepower Management Center (FMC)
- Network monitoring tools: Knowledge on (Algosec / Firemon Solarwind service Now ticketing tool) Scripting (e.g. Python Bash)
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in firewall troubleshooting and advanced administration for L3 and for L2 it s 5 years of experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Checkpoint Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA Security PCNSE CCSA) are must for L3. Plus for L2 if they have.
