The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is the states lead conservation agency and it takes a diverse agency to conserve resources for a diverse commonwealth.
Virginias award-winning state park system a division of DCR boasts an incredible and diverse array of natural cultural historical and recreational resources including parks in the mountains on the ocean on the Chesapeake Bay on 8 major rivers on 4 major lakes 4 rail trails 3 battlefield sites and 32 sites listed on the National Historic Registry. Our parks encompass over 75000 acres offering campsites cabins trails shorelines lakes and ponds international dark sky sites and over 20000 educational programs and workshops each year.
DCR is hiring! Join us in preserving what people care about most access to the outdoors natural habitats open spaces clean water and safe infrastructure. Culpeper Battlefields State Park is accepting applications for an Office Manager.
Located in Culpeper County Culpeper Battlefields State Park is currently under development. When complete the park will protect preserve and interpret the history of five separate battles that occurred in and around Culpeper during the Civil War as well as the impact the war had on the local community. The park will include several separate land management units that will protect significant cultural landscapes while providing hiking and equestrian trails and interpretative signage.
As the Office Manager you will provide administrative support in keeping with the park mission to conserve the natural scenic historic and cultural resources of the Commonwealth and provides recreational and educational opportunities consistent with the good stewardship of these lands waters and facilities for future generations.
Primary job duties include:
