Athletic Director

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters Degree
  • Experience in training in safety accident injury prevention and CPR
  • Demonstrated effectiveness as an effective organizer and supervisor
  • Five years of experience as a teacher
  • Hold and maintain a license as a teacher in Massachusetts

PERFORMANCERESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be responsible to the Principal in all matters pertaining to athletics.
  • To make all necessary arrangements for all home games such as police custodians timer-scorer ticket takers and sellers and other personnel as needed.
  • To be responsible for the totaling of receipts from all home games and turning in such receipts and game reports.
  • To hire officials whenever such assignments are not handled by the league.
  • To promptly submit time sheets for officials.
  • To be responsible for the reconditioning of equipment.
  • To supervise all home games.
  • To keep an active file on all injury claims and process insurance forms in a timely manner.
  • To keep abreast of all eligiblity rules as outlined by the MIAA and to verify the eligibility of all athletes.
  • To assist the Principal in the hiring of all coaches.
  • To arrange the transportation of all athletic teams.
  • To attend all athletic meetings both during and after regular school hours.
  • To report to the Principal regarding coaches practices general conduct and assistant coaches during their season.
  • The Athletic Director will be responsible for all pre-season meetings with all Head Coaches.
  • To prepare a bid list for the purchase of athletic equipment and supplies.
  • To confirm schedules in all sports with athletic directors.
  • To confirm schedules with league commissioners for the assigning of officials.
  • To maintain accurate payroll records for officials.
  • To prepare specification and secure services of athletic trainers.
  • In order to meet the demands of the role Directors of Athletics can be assigned up to one (1) class period.

  • Evaluates departmental personnel in accordance with School Committee policy.
  • Engage in outreach in the school community to promote diversity in athletes and coaches.
  • Arrange for staff coverage in the event the Athletic Director will not be in school for any reason including attending games conferences or absences.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.

** The work year for the position shall be the first Monday in August until the last day of the school year

** The position shall be classified as a 190 Day Administrator on the Salary Schedule and a reference to the work year immediately follows the Salary Schedule

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

DAYS: 190-day administrator

SALARY: $111443
