What Youll Be Doing
As an Infrastructure Architect you will play a pivotal role in leading the design roadmap and management of CIBCs infrastructure services. You will work with a team including Infrastructure Engineers providing technical guidance mentorship and strategic direction. You will collaborate with internal partners and teams to ensure infrastructure solutions align with business needs and organizational goals. Your responsibilities will include the roadmap design and operation of the overall infrastructure services that support the organizations operations including the colocated Equinix data centers. You will lead and mentor a team of Intermediate and Senior Infrastructure Engineers fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement. You Develop and maintain the infrastructure roadmap ensuring alignment with organizational goals and emerging technologies. You oversee the design implementation and lifecycle management of infrastructure services including data centers cloud platforms virtualization storage systems and automation tools provide architectural leadership for the design and operation of colocation Equinix data centers including capacity planning disaster recovery strategies and service continuity plans. You collaborate with internal teams such as Application Operations IT Asset Management End User Technologies etc to ensure infrastructure solutions meet application and business requirements. You drive the adoption of cloud technologies such as Azure and AVS and lead the integration of hybrid cloud solutions into the infrastructure strategy. Oversee the automation of infrastructure processes using tools like Ansible and Terraform improving efficiency and reducing manual effort. Ensure compliance with security standards data privacy regulations and disaster recovery policies. You evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance infrastructure capabilities and support business growth. Act as a subject matter expert providing technical leadership and guidance to stakeholders across the organization. Develop and maintain documentation including roadmaps design documents operational guides and runbooks to ensure clarity and consistency across the team.

How Youll Succeed
- Leadership & Communication- Lead and inspire a team of engineers ensuring they have the tools and support needed to succeed. Collaborate with internal teams such as Application Operations IT Asset Management End User Technologies etc to align infrastructure services with business needs. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders providing recommendations on infrastructure strategy and solutions. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing innovation and continuous learning within the team.
- Governance- Proactively contribute to governance initiatives in the development of company policies audit requirements and compliance with security standards and disaster recovery policies. Provide technical or business guidance to clients within and outside your department.
- Engineering & Innovation- Develop and maintain the infrastructure roadmap ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and emerging technologies.
- Lead the evaluation selection and implementation of new and emerging products and techniques. Oversee the design and operation of colocation Equinix data centers ensuring scalability reliability and security. Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Manage the ongoing vitality of the technology throughout its lifecycle with a focus on cloud adoption and automation.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate 10 years of experience in:
- Infrastructure architecture design and management with a focus on data centers cloud platforms and automation.
- Mentoring technical teams including Intermediate and Senior Engineers.
- Designing and managing colocation data centers such as Equinix including capacity planning and disaster recovery strategies.
- Cloud technologies including Azure VMware Solution (AVS) native Azure Azure DevOps and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Automation tools like Ansible and Terraform with a focus on improving efficiency and reducing manual effort.
- VMware technologies including vSphere vCenter VCF VxRail NSX-T HCX vSAN Horizon and VDI.
- Active Directory administration group policies and security management.
- Managing the roadmap and lifecycle of server-based images (Windows and Linux RHEL) hardening patching and compliance.
- Engineering of SQL design/solution/implementation and support.
- Exchange server and SMTP relay services.
- EMC/DELL storage systems data storage optimization and Commvault/Rubrik backup/recovery strategies.
- Physical server technologies server virtualization and related hardware components.
- Disaster recovery backup and restore and service continuity strategies and plans.
You have:
- Strong knowledge of IT Standards Policies and Procedures with the ability to administer and apply them appropriately.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Application Operations IT Asset Management End User Technologies etc to align infrastructure solutions with business needs.
- Familiarity with VMware Aria Operations Log Insight and Network Insight for performance analysis and troubleshooting.
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g. VMware Microsoft EMC) as an asset.
- Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification (required by October 31 2025).
- AI Fundamentals (AI-900) certification (an asset).

At CIBC we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $140000 - $170000 for the market based on experience qualifications and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
