About the Role:

Downer is a leading provider of integrated facilities services across Australia and New Zealand. We are currently seeking reliable and compassionate Patient Support Services Assistants to support the clinical teams at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

This role involves flexible patient-focused support including patient transport meal delivery housekeeping and equipment management.

We currently have multiple full time and part time opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the safe movement and transport of patients using beds wheelchairs and trolleys including conducting safety equipment checks.
  • Deliver patient meal services and ensure food hygiene compliance in storage areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of clinical and inpatient areas including managing linen waste and consumables.
  • Support clinical teams by preparing and cleaning patient areas between transfers and assisting with equipment cleaning and movement.
  • Communicate and coordinate service requests efficiently using handheld devices and liaise with clinical and support staff.

About you:

  • Previous healthcare or Patient Support Services experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Competent English reading and writing skills for safe and accurate task completion.
  • Positive flexible approach to work and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with a compassionate attitude towards patients and families.
  • Well-presented reliable safety-conscious and committed to continuous improvement and quality service delivery.
