Job Description
Location: Remote/Hybrid
Reports to: Lead Consultant
Overview
The Senior Benefits Analyst delivers critical insights into the design financial impact and performance of benefit plans. This role combines actuarial analysis with practical consulting input to help inform client decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cost/benefit modeling trend analysis and claims utilization reviews
- Develop plan comparisons and financial forecasts to inform renewal negotiations
- Support RFP analysis for insurer selection and flexible plan options
- Prepare and present detailed financial summaries to internal and client teams
- Collaborate with the Lead Consultant to develop data-backed strategies
Tool-Assisted Functions
- Automate data collection and visualization using Power BI Excel with macros or Google Data Studio
- Use carrier dashboards and analytics tools to extract utilization and claims metrics
- Automate baseline reporting templates via Zapier or other integration tools
Qualifications
- 57 years of experience in benefits analysis actuarial modeling or group insurance
- Advanced Excel and/or Power BI proficiency
- Experience working with benefit carriers and financial reconciliation reports
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex data
