Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Indirect Purchasing to lead our indirect purchasing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies for all indirect categories including but not limited to IT marketing professional services facilities
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills and a proven track record in managing complex purchasing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute Indirect Purchasing Strategies: Formulate and implement comprehensive purchasing strategies for all indirect categories ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and achieving cost savings and efficiency improvements.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead mentor and develop a team of purchasing professionals fostering a culture of continuous improvement high performance and professional growth.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders including department heads and senior management to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with indirect purchasing strategies and objectives.

  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions ensuring favorable pricing quality and delivery terms.

  • Supplier Performance and Relationship Management: Monitor supplier performance through regular evaluations and audits ensuring the highest quality of goods and services. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers to drive value and innovation.

  • Market Analysis and Trend Monitoring: Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends market conditions and emerging opportunities. Use this information to inform indirect purchasing strategies and decision-making.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the purchasing of indirect goods and services ensuring business continuity and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve indirect purchasing processes leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency transparency and effectiveness.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the purchasing budget for indirect categories ensuring cost control and financial accountability.

  • Reporting and Performance Metrics: Prepare and present regular reports on indirect purchasing performance including key metrics cost savings and supplier performance to senior management. Use data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions.

  • Compliance and Ethical Standards: Ensure all indirect purchasing activities comply with company policies procedures and ethical standards. Promote a culture of integrity and ethical behavior within the indirect purchasing team.

Experience skills & educational background

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in indirect purchasing and purchasing management.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing teams and strategic initiatives.
  • Experience with strategic sourcing supplier management and contract negotiations.
  • Proven track record of cost reduction and process improvement.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective purchasing strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software and tools.
