Job Description

RECOVERY SUPPORT WORKER

PERMANENT PART-TIME

RFQ are currently recruiting a Permanent Part-Time Recovery Support Worker to join our team based in Maryborough. As a Recovery Support Worker you will be providing evidence-based and recovery-oriented support to people at risk of homelessness discharged from acute mental health wards and/or supported by community mental health services. You will assist clients to achieve their identified goals and aspirations provide support with day-to-day tasks and activities and develop professional working relationships with stakeholders to achieve best possible outcomes for clients.

As a Recovery Support Worker you will assist clients to achieve their identified goals and aspirations and develop professional working relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve best possible outcomes for clients.

No day is the same but it may include:

  • Supporting clients on their day of release from various Correctional Facilities.
  • Visiting clients in Correctional Facilities and supporting them to plan for their transition to the community.
  • Working alongside clients to achieve goals identified in their Personal Recovery Plans including securing accommodation accessing financial support reconnecting with positive social and family supports connecting with relevant community-based services and resources securing employment and/or training opportunities.
  • Actively collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support clients with skill development capacity building and community connections.

You will need:

  • A degree in a human service related field with at least one-year relevant experience or less formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated previous experience working with people with mental illness.
  • A strong sense of professional boundaries and integrity.
  • Valid drivers licence and access to a registered roadworthy and insured vehicle (minimum third-party property).
  • Undergo criminal history screening and obtain and maintaina valid NDIS worker screening clearance pursuant to the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
  • Ability to work autonomously and professionally within RFQs service philosophy and values.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time own case load and KPIs including outcomes measures and safety planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with clients colleagues stakeholders and service providers.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake vaccination of preventable diseases that complies with the Occupational Assessment Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases - Qld Health Policy Directive.
